This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, where 91% of our students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, our Yearbook Squad captures the essence of school spirit. Their recent coverage of a Futbol competition filled with compelling images sparked a desire among students and faculty alike: to hold those precious moments in their hands. This project aims to make that wish a reality by providing our students with the tools to print and protect their invaluable work.

Our students possess an undeniable passion for photography, but limited access to professional-grade tools stifles their potential.

By equipping them with a Canon SELPHY CP1500 printer and Pelican TrekPak cases, we aim to remove these barriers that will not only allow them to print and share their art but also to learn the importance of maintaining and organizing their equipment like true professionals.

Implementing this project will have a wide-reaching effect on our school community by:

Fostering Professional Skills: The addition of Pelican TrekPak cases will teach students the significance of caring for and organizing their equipment, mirroring real-world photography practices.

Encouraging Creative Expression: With the ability to print and display their photographs, students will be motivated to explore their creativity further.

Strengthening School Spirit: Printed and displayed photographs will serve as a daily reminder of our shared experiences, enhancing the sense of community at our school.

Your support will not just equip our yearbook squad with the necessary tools for photography but also instill in them the importance of responsibility and organization in their creative pursuits. This project is a step towards not only preserving memories but also building a legacy of creativity, professionalism, and community.
