One of the most wonderful parts of our community is the wide diversity of learners our school serves.
Our student population is comprised of a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and we have a great diversity in learning styles and academic readiness. The students at my school are energetic, outgoing, and bring a joyful attitude to the learning environment. Every day, I learn something new from them and it truly is a pleasure working with these adolescents. Many of the students live in poverty and do not have access to learning materials at home.
My Project
Our students in seventh grade math need a portable and interactive document camera. The camera connects to both teacher and student devices via USB ports, so students can utilize them interchangeably to project their work, as well as take screenshots and record video to be used at a later time.
This tool would be an extremely effective way for the teachers and students to create a dynamic learning environment by bridging the gap in individualized technology and personalized learning to whole group settings.
Student work (both digital and handwritten) can be displayed for the whole group to evaluate. Student work can be viewed and evaluated in real-time, and students can become invested in each other's learning and progression.
