This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Free voluntary reading (FVR) is an essential part of our course and curriculum because it allows students to gain input/language as they end the class period with a relaxing mode of learning. I value books of all kinds that will allow every student to become invested and engaged during FVR time.

Giving students different books and opportunities to read provides them with a well-rounded exploration of characters, language, and stories that they can take with them through their language journey.

By supporting our project you are not just contributing to our classroom resources, but also investing in the social-emotional development of our students. Students will have the chance to embark on adventures, travel through history, explore new passions and interests, and so much more. The bookshelves are to organize the books and the seats are to offer students flexible access to comfortable reading spots around the room.

Together we can cultivate a community of readers, learners, adventurers, and leaders that will carry this experience for the rest of their lives.
