My Students

My students are so inspiring to watch work through various ways - through reading, writing, and language arts. My students greatly enjoy learning responsibilities and life skills to be successful adults. Their energy and desire to learn is amazing. Help me give my students the space needed to be creative thinkers as well as work in collaborative groups.

My students live in a rural area in East Tennessee known as Mosheim.

Due to their family's low incomes, many of my students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. We have around 1000 students presently enrolled in grades Pre-K through eight.

Our school is bursting with creativity and eagerness to learn. I try to provide as many opportunities to use technology and creativity in the different literacy stations in my classroom, but due to space that is sometimes very difficult. My students love to learn with hands-on projects and working collaboratively with each other. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to be their teacher.

My Project

By providing these wall cabinets for my small classroom, I can eliminate some items off of the floor. This will allow for more floor space which will in turn allow more space to space out my collaborative groups. This will eliminate the groups from being on top of one another. It will also allow me more space to move about my classroom and help students. The extra space will give the students a better opportunity to work in collaborative groups because they will be able to focus on the task at hand and not over hear the neighboring group's conversation as easily.
