My Students

Our students are creative and energetic learners who live in a small community with limited funding. They are highly motivated and enjoy opportunities to think outside the box. The community works hard to provide necessary resources for our students, but it is sometimes necessary to seek outside assistance to acquire materials that supplement our curriculum. We are always looking for ways to support our students' varied learning styles and needs. Community support in a small town is instrumental in helping to create a learning environment that fosters creativity and exploration!

My Project

This project is designed to provide students with a variety of Lego materials that will allow them to be creative and to think outside the box. Having been previously funded for a few Lego projects already, I can say with confidence that our students are eager to be creative and to take their imagination and building to even greater levels.

What I have seen take place when small groups work with the few Legos that we have is truly inspirational; they are exploring and working together in ways that we don't always see in the classroom, and I want to provide them with even more opportunities to do so.

The students who have worked with Legos really want to try to design even more complex machines. I have chosen kits and add ons that will give the greatest amount of room for creativity. It will also be a project that will reach a variety of learning styles and students who may not have previously tried to build with Legos.
