Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Camden, NJ has been ranked as America's most dangerous city. The majority of the students in my class receive free or reduced-price lunch. Despite the challenges my students face living in this environment, they come to school eager to learn and grow. For many students, school is their safe place, and I want to create the best environment possible for them to feel safe, secure, and cared for. They are the future of this city and have the potential to improve their community.
My Project
The students in my classroom will utilize these materials in the art center of our classroom. The mobile art center will give them a place to both create and store their drying work. The paint cups and smocks will allow them to create their masterpieces without worrying about spilling paint on their uniforms. The glue and glue pump will allow us to quickly and easily refill the glue bottles to allow them more time exploring. The easy clean trays will be used for finger painting allowing them the space to create and a quick easy clean up when they are finished.
Art in preschool is focused on free expression while teaching fine motor skills, problem solving, and so much more.
We teach them how to use the materials and they can freely create as they wish. We need these basic materials for them to explore and learn in the art center.
