Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Teachers get new or donated books every year and may not know what to do with all of them. Why not give it to our students? The bookshelves requested will be placed in multiple areas around the school with new and donated books.

The students will no longer have to say that they do not have any books at home to read.

Just writing this makes me feel excited! I used to be a tutor with Americorp and reading is one of the most important skills students should continuously practice.

Having a fully supplied bookshelf, similar to a neighbor book box, kids can take home books, share their favorite books, or even write book reviews and return books so that other students can enjoy them.
