This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Rebuilt™ presented by Haas, is the new challenge for the 2025-26 FIRST Robotics Competition, where our high school team will use engineering skills and re-imagine the past. Our Mechanical Mustangs Robotics Team will design, program, and build industrial-sized robots to play an action-packed game as part of a three-team alliance. In this 360-degree learning guided by our five adult mentors, my students will learn engineering and problem-solving skills as we compete for awards, hone our teamwork skills, raise funds to meet our team goals, and advance appreciation for STEM in their community.
The Mechanical Mustangs need 1/3rd of a field of the game pieces for this new exciting challenge.
We know our team will be allowed to hold multiple game elements at a time and since the kit of parts is only providing us with a few, we will need a lot more in order to be able to practice stacking, placing, and scoring these objects.
We also support the new rookie teams in our area by providing them with an additional game piece or two. By having enough on hand, we will be able to support their program as well. We help them build their kit of parts on day 1, so that when they leave our shop, they have a working robot and they only need to design the manipulator for the game piece.
Although success is not measured by trophies and medals, it's difficult for others to understand how successful your team is without these physical awards. Last season, our team won a District Event, our NJ, PA, DE (tri-state) District Championship, and were ranked 67th in the world (of over 5,000 teams). We received many engineering awards at the various competitions.
Thank you for supporting our mission to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
