This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students bring so much heart, curiosity, and cultural richness into our classroom. They come from a variety of backgrounds, speak different languages, and each bring unique stories and perspectives that make our learning community vibrant and dynamic.
My students are eager to learn about the world and about each other.
They light up when they see books that reflect their own lives or introduce them to new cultures in respectful, engaging ways. These resources will help them feel seen and valued — while also giving them the tools to appreciate and celebrate differences.
The book bins will help us organize our growing collection of culturally responsive books, making it easy for students to access stories that reflect a wide range of races, cultures, and experiences. These bins will help keep our library inviting and accessible, encouraging independent reading and exploration.
The multicultural bulletin board borders will allow us to surround our classroom with visuals that reflect the diversity of our world. They’ll be used to frame student work and class displays that celebrate identity, history, and culture — reinforcing that everyone’s background is something to be proud of.
Together, these small additions will help create a learning space that promotes equity, sparks curiosity, and affirms every student’s identity.
