Frame by Frame: Leveling Up Stop Motion with HUE Pro!

My Project

Our 9th grade animation class is full of creativity and imagination. Students are writing, designing, and animating their own stories using stop motion—one of the most hands-on and engaging ways to learn animation fundamentals like timing, pacing, secondary motion, and storytelling through movement.

Right now, we're limited by equipment, which makes it difficult to capture consistent frames and camera angles.

To take our projects to the next level, we’re asking for 3 Hue Pro cameras, designed specifically with stop motion animation in mind. These cameras: provide adjustable gooseneck positioning for precise shot framing; include software for onion-skinning and playback—essential tools for frame-by-frame animation, allow multiple students or small groups to animate at the same time, and work perfectly with our classroom laptops and stop motion software.

These cameras will be used across several units as students explore character animation, scene building, and visual storytelling. They’ll also be a shared resource in our makerspace, accessible to students in multiple grade levels and creative electives. Stop motion brings animation to life in a tactile, exciting way—and with the right tools, students can create amazing, portfolio-worthy work.
