This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a Title I school in Miami Beach. My students are imaginative and inquisitive kids. Most of them come from underprivileged households, mostly non-English speakers. They are passionate about school, they have a great attitude towards learning.

The majority of my students come from low-income homes.

They are a group of bright and unique individuals who are eager to go back to normalcy. My main objective would be for them to be constantly encouraged to know their potentials and strive to always become better.

My Project

Fractions can be confusing to many learners. They need to see the fraction, make fractions, and even hold the fraction in their hands. Exploring with different materials and playing games using dices to make up their own fractions, and more makes daily activities fun!

By using these manipulatives, students' understanding of fractions will be greatly increased and they will then make the transition to a more abstract understanding of fractions.

By donating to our project, you will allow so many of my learners an opportunity to really further their understanding and hopefully, their love of math, literature and creativity.
