Help me give my students fraction manipulatives to help foster a more concrete understanding of how fractions can be used in our every day lives!

My Project

We’ve recently begun studying fractions in my 3rd grade class and I would love for my students to explore equal parts with a more hands-on approach! We can use these manipulatives to add & subtract fractions, compare fractions, create equivalent fractions & develop an understanding of how fractions work! I plan on giving each student their own personal set of the magnetic tiles to keep with their math resources. This will help foster responsibility as well. They can use them during independent and small group work to assist with their learning. The fraction circles will be utilized at my small group table to facilitate learning with different wholes. The colorful tiles will catch their attention, and students can follow along with my modeling!
