Fraction Circles for Math!

My students need fraction circles to help support understanding fractions and their sizes compared to whole numbers. These will also help when discussing decimals and money.

My Students

I am a 2nd year teacher in an area with low income households and families. I would like to give them the world, but unfortunately my budget cannot fit in all of the things they deserve.

All 25 students in my classroom are truly unique and one of a kind.

They are all so clever, intelligent, and hard working. Every day, they come in with positive attitudes and open minds for learning and growing not just academically but socially and emotionally as well.

These kids deserve the world and have the complete potential to be the next president or ground-breaking scientist.

My Project

Having a class set of fraction circles will give each student the ability to explore fractions at their own pace. We know that every person is different, and everyone learns in their own way. When students have their own set to use, they no longer feel the pressure to keep up with everyone else. Having the concrete, tangible example of each piece is beneficial for students who are more visual learners. They give each student the opportunity to compare the size of fractions to whole numbers as well as other fractions. They will also be helpful when we begin learning about decimals and money as both of those are fractions!
