Dynamic, energetic, diverse…are just a few adjectives that describe this fourth grade class. Comprised of 27 students, they are driven by an uncompromising commitment to succeed. These students understand that “they are not just waves, but are part of the ocean”. Each student proudly represents a family, a community, a culture. Individual success is intended to be shared! Of the 27 students, 3 are diverse learners with diagnosed learning challenges. There are many “A” students and for those who are not…they relentlessly work toward excellence.
Each core subject consists of small group instruction. In essence, three classes in one! After large group instruction, the class breaks into three small groups – small group instruction, group project, and tech group. Small group instruction is teacher driven in which I continue large group concepts. Group project is student driven in which students worked together tackling daily assignments. Tech group is student driven online instruction. For example, MobyMax is an online curriculum that offers individualized instruction and learning. It allows tailored individual assignments tailored to standards and ability. MobyMax makes the learning process exciting with characters and animation. Hence, the need for tablets.
