The students in our inclusion classroom come to school each day with great enthusiasm. They are excited to find ways to help others even though many are struggling themselves.
My school services families from countries including Somalia, Syria, Nepal, Burma, Vietnam, and India.
69% of our students qualify for free lunch, and 25% of the students are English Language Learners. Many of our English Language Learners are refugees from countries where they endured horrible ordeals. These children need to be able to enter a classroom environment that allows them to be in control of their own learning.
My students need a set of Kindle Fire tablets for their class! The tablets will be used so students can work on differentiated, personalized lessons. The lessons will be shared with families at home through the Seesaw app.
The Kindle Fire tablets will allow me to utilize an app to create lessons that will focus on the specific needs of each student.
Students will be able to choose lessons that will improve engagement and academic progress.
The Kindle Fire tablets will also promote family involvement in their student's learning. Families will use an app to view their student's work, comment, contact me, and they will receive classroom updates!
