My school is a public school, serving preschool through fourth grade. Currently, I teach second grade, but next year I am moving up to fourth grade to teach language arts and science. I will be team teaching and will have about 42 students. I've already had the privilege to teach many of these students in second grade. They are amazing kids!
They are hard workers, kind hearted, and enthusiastic learners.
They encourage each other, accept one another's differences, and try to be the best they can be! They love coming to school and take much pride in their classroom.
My Project
The fourth grade classrooms currently have a large primary colored rug that mimics the rugs found in the lower elementary grades. My school is K-4th grade so the fourth graders are encouraged to be the leaders of our school. My students deserve an environment that reflects how they feel inside.
I want my students to have a place where they can gather together and share their successes and struggles, knowing they are loved and accepted.
They need to feel safe and connected. A new rug will give us a place to focus on building that necessary community. A strong community builds strong learners!
