My Project

I am a 4th grade ELA teacher from Western NY. I have a mix of students who range from below to above grade level. During our RTI (Response to Intervention) time, I have a mix of middle-to-high readers, while my lower students are receiving their interventions. During this time I do novel studies and projects with my students at their level. We call this time, "Book Clubs." I am requesting three class sets of novels that I could use with my students throughout the school year.

My goal is to provide my students with new quality literature, because many of the books that my school has are old and outdated.

Our school community is very diverse socio-economically. Some students don't have the opportunity to open up a brand new book on their own outside of school. This project would my students that opportunity.
