This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are so important to me. They are great kids who have to deal with a lot of things in their lives. I feel like sports is a great outlet for them to express themselves and get some important life lessons. Sports are so important in my students life because they also provide them with something safe to do outside of school. The neighborhood they live in makes it tough for them to even play outside.

That is why the sports team become so important to them because it is something outside of the school day that they can play with their friends.

There is even times students want to be part of the team, but not even play in the game. They like the idea of having practice, learning the sport, and spending time with their friends. So, I do not make any cuts from the teams. This gives any student that wants to be a part of the team the opportunity.

My Project

The Varsity Boys' Basketball Team recently got basketballs donated so now I am looking for some new ones for the other teams. I coach five basketball teams and four of them use the same size ball. The balls get worn out very quickly because they are used for the four teams and Physical Education class. That is why I am asking for a few balls to replenish our supply.

Please consider helping my players and students with any little amount you can because they are great kids who just need a push in the right direction.

Many of them go on to high school and play a basketball and sometimes a different sport, but the basketball team helps lay a foundation for the ones who might even go on to play soccer. The teams have had a couple of great season so please help this continue with any amount you can donate. Thank you and please continue to support Physical Education and Athletics.
