I am a PE teacher, teaching 6 sessions weekly and I also am the football coach and a baseball coach. I wear lots of hats!
Thanks to grants by Drew Brees, the NFL, and private donors, we were able to renovate the locker rooms (boys and girls) and to build a new concession stand/handicapped accessible restroom and press box.
We will get the keys to the concession stand within a month.
These new features constitute a great incentive to motivate the football team to succeed. The team has approximately 40 members and I teach approximately 150 kids in PE.
My Project
We have not been very successful in competition and need to train more methodically. I'm the assistant football coach and there is very little equipment for training.
The QB step over that I'm hoping to get is specially designed to meet the needs of the QB position.
Low profile shape avoids high vertical lift and allows QB's to pick up and reset feet quickly.
Using this equipment will improve my players' footwork and the rhythm of the drop without compromising their upper body mechanics. They will gain distance and speed with their drop while keeping their upper body balanced and compact. The equipment will also serve for my offensive lineman because low level "foot fire" is essential for proper technique.
