This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want to introduce life skills to my students in fun way they will like and understand. It's a challenge for them to learn different concepts without having concrete examples. I believe the money manipulatives will peak their interest in learning how to count so I can introduce the other math manipulatives to foster a higher level of understanding. The fluorescent lights covers will keep students from wanting to avoid the brightness. This is why I only use half of the lighting in the room. The chairs will be like handsfree fidgets they can sit on to help them focus better. They act out in a general education classroom because they are embarrassed, have no confidence in their abilities, and have not been successful.
I desire my students to learn in an environment they trust and feel comfortable in to catch up and learn what they have missed.
