Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with Kindergarten and first-grade students with special needs. My students love coming to school. However, the students struggle in all academic areas. I want them to enjoy, and succeed in their learning. My students need supplies to make learning hands-on, interesting, engaging, and more inclusive. Most of them come from families with low incomes, and a lot of them have had difficult lives. Many of them live in poverty, and the families don't have enough money to meet basic needs including food or clothing. When our students come to school, they feel cared for, and find comfort in knowing they are in a safe, fun, and educational environment.
The students in our classroom look to us for help and support, both academically and emotionally.
I want children to enjoy and succeed in their learning. Students in my classroom learn through play. Help me give my students items for centers so they can have a hands-on learning experience in a fun and educational environment.
My Project
My students need literacy activities, and sensory materials to use at school to improve their writing, letter and sound identification and aid in their social emotional well being.
The play-doh and kinetic sand will be used for sensory fun!
My students need downtime and these are wonderful tools to help my students feel more calm and relaxing.
I really want to help my students improve their reading and writing. Providing the necessary tools for them will help ease their frustrations when it comes to learning. The "find the letter activity center", and "beginning sounds game" will help them accomplish this while learning.
