Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are super excited about the upcoming school year and they are eager to learn. My Kindergarten students do most of their learning about “foundational skills” when they come to the rug. Foundational skills is the foundation of students beginning to read by learning letters, and sounds, and how to blend them together. My students also come to me to work on counting and sorting coins for financial literacy.
As a teacher, I need to sit in front of my students on a daily basis so I can deliver these skills with games and activities.
The teacher chairs will allow students to become the teachers during instructional time on the rug. It will be fun to allow students to sit in these "teacher chairs" to lead the class as they share their knowledge about all the different things we will learn including reading, writing, math and financial literacy.
