I teach in a high poverty, high needs urban district. This year is the first year back to full time school for our student population since March 2020. This year I am tasked with supporting our students as a Reading Interventionist. Therefore, I am working with the kids who have fallen significantly behind in reading. I am trying to create unique and creative ways to engage them and am hoping for some help in getting some resources to help in doing so!
My Project
These materials will be used to supplement the Reading Intervention program being used during small groups. In addition to delivering intervention, I want to supply kids with fun and engaging games to foster collaboration, communication, and love for learning! The games included in my wish list will not only help students make gains in reading but will allow them to have fun at the same time.
The kids I service are 2 or more grade levels behind in reading and most have lost the love for reading because of this.
My goal is to restore their confidence and love for reading through play!
