My students consist of four-year-olds with diverse abilities and cultural backgrounds, some with varied special education needs. My students are creative, enthusiastic, and curious learners whose learning styles vary as do the methods in which they communicate and learn. My instruction combines a hands-on, multi-sensory, multi-modality approach so all my little learners are successful and to ensure that each student's needs are met. I am preparing my students to be life long problem solvers and to love science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
This project will provide my students with an open-ended art studio that will foster their imagination through clay, painting, and pastels.
High-quality art materials will nourish my students' creativity and provide them with the freedom to manipulate different materials in an organic and unstructured way allowing for exploration and experimentation.
My students will deepen and extend their natural curiosity as they become flexible thinkers through art exploration.
The process of creating — exploring, discovering, and experimenting — that has the greatest value. Through self-expression and creativity, my students' skills will develop naturally, and their confidence and ability to create will soar.
