My Project

I would like to implement the 14 practices identified in the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics, by Peter Liljedahl. Through research, the author has identified 14 different practices that lead students to do the most thinking in their math classroom. These practices increase student engagement, put student thinking at the forefront, and build a setting that encourages deep mathematical learning to occur.

One of the 14 strategies is to have students engage in their work in small groups of 3, standing up, working together on a vertical surface.

In order to implement this in my classroom, I need enough whiteboard space for all of my students.

The whiteboards I am requesting are easels. Their legs are adjustable. This will allow me flexibility in setting them up on a counter, a table, or directly on the floor. I will be able to maximize the space in the classroom and spread students out so they can work comfortably without being distracted by another group.
