Fostering 'Ohana

Help me give my students materials that foster hands-on learning so we can learn and grow together.

My Project

The requested resources would provide the children with hands-on learning opportunities in our classroom and will be used in centers, and during whole and small group instruction. I have selected materials that will make the classroom fun, engaging, and safe while helping each child to meet educational goals. We will use the Lakeshore Magic Boards to practice writing. The rekenreks, push and pop ten frames, dice, and cups will make math time engaging and help with creating centers. We use the clipboards, sheet protectors, and laminating sheets to create differentiated individual centers, as well as classroom materials that help us move around the room. Another way we support each others learning is by using our headphones during center time. This allows each child to work on their skills meeting their individual needs and is considerate of others working around us.

By learning and growing together we strengthen our ‘ohana and provide a place where students' social, emotional, and mental well-being are nurtured especially through pandemic-impacted learning.
