Fostering a Love of Creativity and Technology with a Cricut

Help me give my students the opportunity to express their creativity through the use of technology with a Cricut Maker cutting machine.

My Students

I teach fourth and fifth graders who are very eager, creative and very tech-savvy. Over a third of our students come from low-income households but they still overcome every obstacle thrown at them.

My students love to be creative and need an opportunity to channel that through the use of combining creativity and technology.

They are so smart when it comes to learning technology.

My students and I are currently working on adding a STEAM based makerspace to our library. They are creative in the way they use their makerspace currently but the students want to take it one step further by adding their other love, technology to it. These students just want to be able to showcase their talents.

My Project

My students will be able to use their creativity with the products that I have selected. Students crave the need to have self pride and accomplishment in what they do. The products that I have selected will fulfill that need that they are desiring. I have my own personal Cricut Maker and have been designing for almost 3 years now. I can teach the students how to use the products. Everything will remain in the school for the students to use as a new addition to our Makerspace.

The students will be overjoyed to be able to tie together their loves of creativity and technology using this Cricut Maker bundle.

Some of the things that they have mentioned that they want to create are cards for friends, teachers and family members and making their own designs for their water bottles.This will be a huge boost of excitement for the students in these trying times.
