This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with students in an inner city school who demonstrate speech and language delays. I work with students who are bilingual (Spanish and English) and are speech and language impaired. Many of these students are not exposed to non-fiction news articles and topics and truly benefit from reading Scholastic magazines to learn about and discuss matters that are relevant to them and that develop their curiosity in learning about new topics and current events. These magazines focus on the necessary vocabulary and questions that the students need to improve their expressive and receptive language skills.
