This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are filled with JOY when they are at school! It is a place where many of them escape the difficulties that often surround our neighborhood. When our students are in the classroom, you would never know the difficulties that many of them face.

You would never know this because our students LOVE to learn.

They love to be with each other and in the classroom. They come through the school doors with bright smiles on their faces ready and they come eager to enjoy the day at school. They ask questions, work incredibly hard, and they are continuously asking for MORE WORK! They have such an incredible desire to learn and study that you often hear them discussing how they wish we had school on the weekends when Friday rolls around. They have boundless optimism, inspiring dreams, and school is the tool that will make their goals achievable.

My Project

These materials will allow teachers at our school to provide a rigorous science education for our students. They will give all students from K through 6th opportunities to do science investigations for the whole year. This means that students will have access to hands-on opportunities that allow them to see the science they read and study about in front of their eyes. These materials will give teachers the manuals and resources they need to spend time planning and digging into a high quality science curriculum for their students. These are the types of materials that will inspire children to love science and to pursue science in their college or career choices.
