My students need 3Doodler pens to help foster inquiry based learning as well as spark curiosity and engagement.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Mac's classroom raised $752

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at Title I school in Queens, New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school serves students in grades 6-8 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
My students don't wear their struggles on them, they walk into class every day ready and eager to learn with a smile on their face.
Even though they have struggled academically most of their lives because of their various disabilities. As a Special Education Teacher, I see the learning struggles my students have to overcome. I also serve a very high percentage of ELL (English Language Learner) students. Many of my students receive services for English as a Second Language, in addition to their disability.
With all these obstacles set before them, not having access to helpful resources should not be one of them.
My Project
The 3Doodler is the world's first 3D drawing technology. With the ever-changing technological world, the traditional way of teaching is that it is not linked to advancing the students’ conceptual ideas and practices especially those with learning disabilities. In science, all students benefit from inquiry-based learning that allows for “sense-making”. When students participate in “sense-making” they are understanding the world by creating, using, exploring, and questioning scientific knowledge or concepts; we give students a voice to question all and ask "why?". I have seen the most disinterested and disengaged students come alive when given the opportunity to question the norm to try new technology. Students are often bored with traditional classroom materials and are desperate for cutting-edge mediums and tools that they see on the internet.
The modern technology of 3D pens integrates and blends math, science and art in a user-friendly, efficient and visually appealing way; these 3Doodler pens will help with the integration of innovation, science, and creativity.
Instead of student simply drawing an atom, they can create a 3D model that allows them to explore the ins and outs of that atom. While building and creating models, students are also making connections to the "real-world" and the possibilities of various jobs. Let's help spark curiosity in the classroom together.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
