My Project

My school is the last stop for my seniors. Instead of spending their senior year with friends and participating in fun activities, my students are court-ordered to BHS as punishment for a variety of crimes. They definitely should be given some sort of consequences, but they’re still kids.

Along with various faculty and staff, I believe, “It’s now or never.” We know that if these students aren’t given the opportunity to reform, they will very likely spend a great deal of their lives in and out of prison, and the cycle will continue.

The clock is ticking, so we need to bond with these young women and men as quickly as possible and the fastest way is through their stomachs! Once rapport has been built, mentoring can begin. We know we’re fighting an uphill battle, but we’ve had numerous success stories and with your support can continue this incredibly important work!
