My Students

We are a public Montessori school in downtown Indianapolis.

Our Montessori students in 6th & 7th grade are very curious about the world around them.

Most of our students have been together for all of their school aged years.

They are very social individuals who share their knowledge and always like to learn more. Their minds are like sponges, and they want to soak up as much information as they can. They like discussing different issues in the world around them.

My Project

My students will be doing a unit where they are "detectives." Students will be learning about forensics. They will be doing different activities including fingerprinting, DNA, and also learning about their senses. These kits would be a great addition to this unit for easier implementation.

The students will be solving a murder mystery using all there knowledge from the different activities we will be doing.

Inquiry based learning is an important concept in science. This is a fun way for students to use the scientific method, inquiry, and science concepts that the students would enjoy as they solve a mystery.
