This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the science goals in 3rd grade is to learn about different types of force and motion and how friction affects them. We build catapults in the classroom, play tug-o-war and on the swings to practice these concepts.

In the future, we would like to demonstrate our understanding of these ideas through larger sling-shots and foam balls, frisbees, golf putters and balls, and use scoops as levers.

This total physical engagement in learning improves our understanding of scientific concepts. The leveled readers about rollercoasters will support literacy during these projects.
