My students need Spanish-language books to bring their Spanish reading proficiency up to meet or exceed their proficiency in English. My students love engaging, relevant books in Spanish.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are self-sufficient, passionate about learning, and considerate of each other. They are diverse, skilled, funny, and caring. Our students choose to do the right thing, even when no one is looking. They have a sense of joy that follows them throughout their days and weeks in the classroom and beyond.
Our students are truly special in the way that they collaborate, support one another, and advocate for their needs and ideas.
Through the Montessori approach, students take ownership of their learning and self-regulate throughout the day. Our students are learning not only content but approaches to content. They problem-solve, communicate, forgive, and imagine every day.
My Project
These books will help enhance the Spanish-language environment in our Upper Elementary Montessori classroom. Books like The Diary of Anne Frank, and The Landry News, will help students grow in their love of Spanish Literature.
These books will help students fall in love with reading in Spanish.
At LAMB we strive to create an engaging, rich, rewarding learning experience for all students. These books will help support our goal of full bi-literacy by the end of fifth grade. Students will love having relevant, fun, engaging chapter books to read on their own. These rich books will definitely pull readers into the text.
