This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

HCP students are some of the hardest working kids in the state of Oklahoma. They go above and beyond in the classroom, to prepare themselves for college. Our school is by far the best public high school in the state of Oklahoma, but our athletic program is struggling with the budget cuts across the state. We have to fundraise for all our necessary equipment, and I can't afford to purchase them out of my pocket. These kids really cherish the little things that make a big difference and do more with less than schools in the area.

My Project

This donation will mean we can develop a much better team in many areas. Being a charter school, we do not have a budget for athletic teams. We have had to make do with used equipment and the practices have been mediocre.

The variety and method of training will be greatly enhanced with new soccer balls and a soccer net.

Also, the increased team spirit and camaraderie will make this sport much more pleasurable. Hydration is a great concern as we live in Oklahoma. The addition of water bottles will keep these players healthier and able to play longer. Recruitment for this team will be much easier when the correct equipment is available.
