Help me give my students a snack cart filled with various snacks in order to meet the demands of their growing bodies and brains, boost physical and emotional well-being, and support academic success.
This project focuses on providing snacks to students in order to curb their hunger, contribute to their emotional and physical well-being, and support academic success, all while gaining important life skills too. Our school snack cart would be a wheeled utility cart with baskets that staff would fill with a variety of snacks. The snack cart would be wheeled from class to class by staff and student volunteers on special days, offering students a snack to help get them through their day. The snack cart would provide students options of healthy snacks or sweet treats too, especially on special school-wide celebration days. Childhood is a critical time for growth and development, and snacks provide important nutrients that children need between meals. They can also support a child's academic success too.
The snack cart is an example of how our district's strategic plan is at work in our school, as it would focus on the whole child by providing an environment that fosters academic growth in which each student experiences a sense of belonging and well-being.
A snack cart would be a welcome addition in our school, benefiting many students. Not only would it help to fulfill our students needs when they are hungry, but well-timed snacks would also supply them with the fuel they need to get through the school day, while boosting their nutrition too. Students would also gain important life skills that they wouldn't necessarily learn in a traditional academic setting. Life skills such as fulfilling an order, effective communication, decision-making and problem-solving, and sharing. Snacking at school is a must for many students. This is why a snack cart is needed at our school!
