My Students

Our students are creative, and passionate growing readers. They absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions in all subjects.

We strive to give our students the fundamentals for reading while instilling a love for it as well.

In order to do this, we need to put a book in every student’s hand! Book sets are a great way to build a love for reading and build our classroom community! Guided reading groups are fundamental for applying the reading strategies taught through engaging stories, while building a long lasting love for reading.

We are a Title I school located in Kansas. Most of our students don’t have access to books at home or the books we do have are very well loved. We are looking to incorporate some newer high interest books to help with our guided reading groups. Each child in our classrooms absolutely loves learning and reading. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies to ensure that each student's needs are met in a fun and exciting classroom full of love and laughter.

My Project

We will use these chapter book sets for students during guided reading groups. The students will be engaged in a book club setting. They will have the opportunity to discuss their reading with their peers in an active academic learning community. Students will be able to apply the fundamental skills taught to them during core instruction time in an engaging up to date book of their choice. We will use these chapter book sets during guided reading groups for students to put their knowledge to work. This will instill a life long love for reading!
