My Students

At my school, our students are eager to learn by doing. We use an arts-infused curriculum to encourage self-exploration, build self-confidence, and increase social and emotional development.

I enjoy working with my students, because they are imaginative and eager to learn more about the world around them.

They have high energy and thrive on interactive student-focused learning experiences.

75% percent of our students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, and 75% qualify for Head Start, Early Head Start, or state childcare subsidies. 87% of our amilies are single-parent households. We partner with our students and families to provide a high quality early childhood education and resources to set them up for success.

My Project

Items in my cart will enhance our classroom’s library and reading area. Creating a fun and interactive reading space for our students will activate excitement for reading and literature.

In addition to adding new books to our classroom’s library, we’d like to provide puppets and props for them to ignite imagination and integrate positive play to complement books they enjoy reading.

For example, our students love animals and often use specific animals to connect to their emotional state. Allowing children to select specific books and activities that cater to their interests will actively engage them, teach them to self-regulate, and increase reading ability and critical thinking skills.

By creating a warm and inviting space where students feel safe and inspired to read, students will develop a love for language and independent reading. Support for this project will provide them with a stimulating educational environment that will support them as they learn, develop, and thrive.
