My 18 brilliant students are some of the sweetest, kindest, little people anyone has ever met, which is why this is so important to me. They work to be successful at all they do and they show enthusiasm for school and learning.
I have a strong belief that it is my job to do whatever it takes to create a classroom of lifelong readers.
Active engagement in reading materials is so important, especially for the youngest of learners. My readers need to be actively engaged by rich text!
I have a wide variety of personalities, learning styles and talents within my classroom. I focus greatly on building positive relationships, teaching everything I can fit in each day, and teaching students to find a love and passion for reading at an early age.
My Project
My students are avid readers, especially when they are offered books that they find interesting. I asked my kiddos to help me make a list of the books they would love to read in class and this is what we came up with. Most of the books on the list are Sunshine State Readers, so they can accomplish a media center goal as well as a personal goal by reading those titles!
My students are very competitive!
They love to read for Reading Counts points. All of the titles included in the list are available for RC points. Please consider helping my class meet these very important goals.
