My Students
My students are predominantly English Language Learners or speak English as their second language. I have a wide range of abilities, ranging from cannot read to can read at a low level and can read proficiently.
These students have a love of books and of learning.
When getting into math during the second week, we talked about how division can be shown by using pictures as well as relating to multiplication and addition. All of my students were able to get into the math, and they all answered together my questions after given time to reflect on their white boards. As a teacher, it was a really rewarding experience to see them get so involved in their own education. That's all I could want from them.
My Project
My students have given me suggestions for books they request, and I have also reached out to my friends and family about what books they think would be a good fit as well. Junie B. Jones, the Cat in the Hat and Pigeon books (by Mo Willems) have been requested to be added to my library.
