My Students

My students are some of the most fun-loving, energetic, and curious kiddos I've ever had the pleasure to teach! They have so much passion and life inside of them. They just love learning and coming to class every day. They are eager to learn and definitely need engaging books to keep their attention! They are always excited to go on adventures with the characters and connect with them throughout the book. Learning is fun again and it doesn't feel like endless work!

My Project

This year we are focusing on reading for the love of reading! My goal is to engage the students in amazing novels to teach them how to think through them and love them at the same time. We will be reading Wonder, which is a book that will teach them to be kind. This book will open up their eyes to children who may deal with things that they do not have to. They will get a front row seat into seeing different characters' point of views about the same story. Having these novels will open up a chance for them to experience things that they may not have experienced otherwise. It will also give them an opportunity to connect with a character, learn from them, empathize, and grow with them. I want my students to understand that reading is truly a gift. With these novels we can open up young minds to amazing things!
