Help me give my students engaging learning experiences through games and hands-on growing opportunities. Students will get the chance to solidify multiplication facts by using the different games and work collaboratively while sitting at the table and chairs.
I teach some absolutely INCREDIBLE students! They think critically, are creative, love engaging projects, and they never cease to amaze me. Although many face difficult home challenges, they come to school excited to learn and grow.
I am consistently learning from my students.
They always have ingenious thoughts and ideas. They embrace challenges and are problem solvers. They look out for one another and inspire me to be the best person I can be.
I teach at a Title 1 school, so that creates some unique challenges, yet students embrace any and all learning experiences. It truly is a blessing to be in their presence each day!
My Project
I will never forget the reasons I chose to be a teacher. I always felt like my heart belonged in the classroom. Yet, these past few years since COVID became a reality, I have been stretched to my maximum capacity. There are so many moving parts and demands placed on a teacher. We have been through a roller coaster of emotions. We have worked harder than ever to ensure that students' social, emotional, and academic needs are met. We have learned to be flexible, to fill holes in all areas left by the pandemic, helped students to be their best selves and reach their goals, and ultimately be the teacher these students need.
This project will help to reignite my love for teaching and help students to develop a deeper love for learning.
My students love to play games and have a particular interest in engineering design and Legos. By funding this project, you will help my students to learn math concepts, particularly multiplication through games. This project will provide my students with the opportunity to build fact fluency in a way that relates to them. Up until the beginning of this year, my students had not been in full in-person classes since the middle of first grade. As a byproduct, there is a wide range of abilities in all subject areas. These resources will help to level the playing field and connect learning with the students in ways that meet their diverse needs. The classroom organization materials will also benefit student teachers I mentor each semester in my classroom.The students and their development are at the heart of this project. Ultimately, I want them to be their best selves and develop a deep love for learning.
