My Students

I am a teacher of 19 beautiful and unique personalities. My students are eager to learn and eager to read. Though I've only been with my students for about 3 weeks we have become a family. We laugh and learn together. We share joys and frustrations with one another. There are days that I am "the best teacher in the world" and there are moments where I'm not, but I hope my students know they are already loved by me.

My Project

Adding chapter books to my classroom library will enrich my students in many ways.

All of the series I've selected for this project were chosen by my students.

Each student wrote down a chapter book series they have read or would like to read. This has given them ownership and interest two very important things necessary to instill a love of reading and a love of learning.

The books will be used all day every day! We have built-in time each day for independent reading. The ability to choose from a large selection of chapter books will challenge and push my students to become better readers.
