My Project

I serve over 200 high school students who are learning English while also learning about science, history. Some of these students are newcomers to the U.S., and their incredible resilience through the adjustment to a new country and culture, and their desire to learn and become educated citizens, is inspiring every day.

These phenomenal young people come to us with varying levels of English language skills, and my goal is to provide them with fun and helpful resources to get them moving on their English-learning journey.

My project requests include games, flashcards, simple books to read, and even some easy, go-to teaching materials like a collection of worksheets. These items will help me adapt activities and meet individual students' needs at appropriate levels. They will also help me deliver fun activities for the groups of students who come to spend time in our Multilingual Education room for lunch and before and after school. I love seeing their faces light up when they know they have a new word or phrase that they feel confident using socially or academically!
