My students need hands-on science activities like Real Bugs Discovery Kit, Bugs and Insects Learning Center and Butterfly Puppets to learn about the life cycle of insects.
My students live in a neighborhood in Arkansas that has a combination of low income and middle-income families. The families our school serves places a high value on education and are eager to have their children come to our school. Students are excited to come to school each day to learn. In my classroom, I balance planning developmentally appropriate, rigorous learning through hands-on experiences and play. We are getting ready for success in school, work, and life. Together we laugh, play and learn.
My Project
One of my favorite times of year in Kindergarten is Spring Time when we learn about insects. The life cycle of these amazing creatures creates a fun learning experience. The materials requested in this project will provide students with various learning station opportunities with insects while developing math, fine art, and vocabulary skills.
Students will explore the life cycles of bees, ladybugs, butterflies, and ants.
After we learn about these amazing creatures we will draw, write and create art. Activities like Butterfly Life Cycle Magnets, Jumbo Insects, Monarch Life Cycle puppets and Bugs Discovery Kits will give students hands-on experiences at learning centers during our unit of study.
