Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a great class with ten energetic and vibrant students and three wonderful paraprofessional aides. All of my students have various IEP goals, behaviors, and speech delays.
My students are in Pre-K/K and are diagnosed with autism.
I currently have ten students, a number which may gradually increase at any moment. None of my students are able to effectively communicate basic wants, needs, or emotions. Currently, we are using picture icons to support their communication needs.
My students are energetic, bright, and very eager to learn. They range in age from 3-years to 5-years old. Our school is a Title I site. My students come to school to be loved, appreciated, and taught. They have lots to overcome, but they still come to school with smiles on their faces that brighten up my day. These little ones are learning so quickly! In less than one week the newest of my students has mastered using picture icons for their daily schedule and has done so well with following the classroom routine. We work every day on their various IEP goals, social skills, and their speech and language acquisition, strengthening their fine motor skills along with our new curriculum.

STEAM is really fun and can be very engaging for my students. We are looking to add to our materials to enhance the learning experience for my students.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics are quite fun and engaging with hands-on learning.
The Learn to Code! Ladybug is a super-fun introduction to programming and coding for kids. The robotic ladybug moves in four basic directions—forward, backward, left and right. The mat features a grid with letters A to Z and numbers 1 to 9, and the remote lets you program up to 30 commands!
The Science File Folder activities allow for comprehension of science lessons and make them fun and engaging. Explore earth science, life science and physical science…with ready-to-use games children can play independently! Kids just grab a color-coded folder and pouch…then follow the simple 3-step instructions to classify solids, liquids and gases, identify objects that can be recycled, label the parts of a plant, and more!
The Various Paint, Glitter and Kwik Stix paint will be used during art to allow the students to be expressive in their creativity.
