Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Dear Donor,
These books will be used in my classroom and be part of our classroom library.
Unfortunately, my school does not have a school library for my students. As an English teacher I try my best to give my students all the books they wish for whenever I can, and include them in my mini classroom library. This set of books will give students access to books they usually do not have access to in their communities. Most specifically, they will be able to read them during our Empowered Reading class, a class that focuses on reading and improving these specific English language skills.
These books will allow students to explore reading and help them raise their reading lexile scores. It will also encourage students to read which will in turn improve their writing and reading skills. I hope to build up a small classroom library that students will be able to gravitate, connect, and interact with. Hopefully, if I can build a library that reflects my students they will be encouraged to read and learn to love reading.
