We are a charter school that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). My students are bright, energetic children who are eager to learn and experience things, especially through hands-on activities.
Children learn best through engagement, and I want my students to love learning and develop a passion that drives them to reach their full potential.
In 5th grade, my students are engaged in PBL and STEM projects as well as going out into the field to experience learning outside of a textbook. Our children are our future, and they should be given the opportunity to succeed.
My Project
Most students dislike math simply because they dont understand it. Math is such an important aspect in our daily lives and students must have a solid foundation to build upon in order to be successful later in life. This is what I hope to give to my students through this project.

By using the Didax Resource Kit, I will be able to focus on the individual students needs and struggles as well as help them increase their independence through the use of the self-check cards.
With the Correll 48"D x 72"L Kidney Shaped Heavy Duty Activity Table, I will be able to place students in small groups where we can focus directly on a specific concept. The unique curve of this table allows me to be in close relation to each student so that I can easily support them with their math. In addition, I will be able to encourage them to work independently while still within reach for help.
