This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an occupational therapist, my students are often seen in small groups. They are bright minds that are always excited and willing to join me around the table, for arts and crafts or specialized instruction and learning. However, having less than-optimal working accommodations makes it difficult for them to work comfortably and efficiently. My students already have to work twice as hard to progress through their challenges and setbacks. Providing them with this basic necessity will make it easier for them to focus and attend to tasks and follow directions given. It will give them a better chance to learn and succeed.
