Food Truck Festival

My Project

Our Food Truck Festival project gives students the opportunity to apply real-world business, math, economics, history, and teamwork skills in a hands-on, engaging way. The specific items we’re requesting—supplies for food preparation, presentation materials, and decorations—will directly support their learning by turning their ideas into reality. Instead of just reading about entrepreneurship, students will calculate costs, design menus, build model food trucks, and serve their dishes to staff and community members. These tangible materials give meaning to their academic work and help them connect school to life beyond the classroom.

This project allows my students to see themselves as leaders, creators, and future business owners.

My goals are to increase their confidence, deepen their understanding of economics and marketing, and give them a chance to shine in front of community stakeholders. My students come from difficult backgrounds—many are overcoming personal trauma, economic hardship, and a lack of traditional academic success. What makes them special is their resilience, creativity, and heart. They work incredibly hard when they feel their voice matters. The Food Truck Festival does more than teach—it empowers.
